Today, the Tianjin Challenger 2024 concluded in China, serving as the path to the Manama Masters. Out of 14 teams, the Serbian teams Ub Huishan and Liman, Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy, and China’s Chongming made it to the semifinals. Liman faced Chongming in the final, and luck was on the side of the Serbians today—they scored 21 points in just 6 minutes, winning the game 21:13.
In the semifinals, one of the top contenders was the celebrated Ub Huishan, but they fell short against their fellow Serbians from Liman, losing 18:21.
As a result, Liman and Chongming advanced to the final of the Tianjin Challenger 2024. The game began with strong attacks from the Chinese players, who scored first. However, Chongming was only able to maintain control for a few minutes.
In the third minute of the match, Liman quickly scored several points within just 15 seconds, gaining a solid lead of 10:4. The Chinese team tried to catch up, but by the middle of the game, the score stood at 17:11 in favor of the Serbian team.
With four minutes remaining, Liman, having reached 19 points, was given the opportunity to take free throws. After successfully converting, they reached 21 points and claimed the title of Tianjin Challenger 2024 champions.
The top three teams from the tournament will now advance to the Manama Masters, set to take place in early November.
