In a historic moment for the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers’ star forward LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, became the first father-son duo to play together in an NBA regular season game.
The 20-year-old Bronny James made his long-awaited debut in the Lakers’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which ended with a 110-103 victory for the Lakers. Bronny joined his father on the court with just under four minutes remaining in the second quarter, playing for nearly three minutes and recording one rebound. LeBron, at 39 years old, contributed 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the game.
Bronny was selected by the Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Prior to joining the NBA, he played for the University of Southern California (USC) in the NCAA, where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. His debut comes after a challenging offseason in which he underwent surgery following a cardiac arrest during a practice session earlier in the year.
