In Belgrade, the final qualifying match for EuroBasket 2025 between the teams of Serbia and Georgia took place. Despite the fact that this game was not significant for the Serbian team in terms of tournament standings, the visitors decided to show everything they were capable of.
The first half of the game was completely under the control of Georgian basketball players. Under the guidance of Alexander Dzhiqich, they confidently led in the score, taking advantage of the hosts’ mistakes. Beka Burdzhanadze was especially effective, scoring 17 points for his team.
Although the game was not crucial for the Serbian national team since it didn’t affect their standing, Georgia decided to put up a real fight. For exactly half of the game, Georgian basketball players were leading, even if with a small lead on the scoreboard, but they didn’t allow the home team to relax.
One of the key moments of the match was the appearance of Aleksa Avramovich. All the stands were eagerly awaiting his entry onto the court. In the end, the CSKA player became the top scorer for the Serbian national team, tallying 14 points without starting in the initial lineup.
Coach Svetislav Pesic gave young players a chance to showcase themselves. Special mention should be made of Asim Dzhulovich – a promising player who demonstrates progress in the Serbian championship. His bravery and talent were evident on the parquet.
The decisive period was the third quarter when the Serbs organized a series of successful attacks and took control of the game. In the closing stages of the match, the experienced players of the Serbian national team managed to hold onto their advantage despite attempts by Georgian basketball players to catch up.
The final score of 63:54 allowed the Serbian national team to finish the qualification stage with a perfect record – 6 wins in 6 matches. The best player of the match was named Aleksa Avramovich (14 points), while among the Georgian basketball players, Beka Burdzhanadze stood out (17 points).
